In this course you can discover freediving at your own pace as a beginner or advancing your current freediving skills. You will learn the basic theory of Freediving and how to prepare yourself for a breath-hold dive. Students are guided during an open ocean session to swim to depth (maximum 10m), focusing on correct 'duckdive', equalisation, relaxation techniques, safety and buddying. This 1 day course is organized in a very tranquil manner, with practical lessons throughout the day. You are offered plenty of guidance, with the focus on a fun experience rather than specific training objectives.

AIDA 1 course consists of:
• One theory session
• One breathing and relaxation session
• One confined water session
• One open water sessions
What you will learn:
- During the theory session:
• Equipment for freediving
• Breathing for freediving
• Equalisation technique
• Safety for freediving
• Freediving and Scuba Diving
- During the breathing and relaxation session:
• How the breathing can help you to get relax
• Recovery breathing
- During the Confined Water session:
• Static apnea training
• Experiencing some contractions

The Prerequisites for this course are:-

Be 18 years of age or older (17 or 16 years with parent or guardian consent)- Be able to swim atleast 100m non-stop-

Have complete the AIDA medical form

*This course includes freediving equipment, insurance, digital copy of AIDA 1 manual and certificate.

The Freediver AIDA 2 Course is designed for students who are already confident in the water. Thorough theory and knowledge development covers the fundamentals of physiology, relaxation, breathing, equalisation, technique, safety procedures, buddying and equipment. You will learn the basics of meditation and embrace an inward focused sport where success rises when you surrender to the sea, listen and feel the natural adaptations of your body as you completely let go. The classes are small and intimate, so one on one time with the instructor is maximised. The course does include a few challenges for successful completion including a 40m DYN “distance swim,” a 16-20m CWT “deep dive” and a 2min static “stationary breath- hold.” These are fun targets, and the program guides you through the necessary techniques to achieve and eventually exceed these.

Freediver AIDA 2 course consists of:

  • Two theory sessions

  • One breathing and relaxation session

  • Two confined water sessions

  • Three open water sessions

  • One exam to pass at the end

    What you will learn:

   - During the theory sessions:

  • You will learn the basics of Freediving physics and physiology

  • Breathing and relaxation for freediving

  • How to prevent blackout and LMC

  • How to rescue a freediver in trouble; how to safely improve your dive

- During the static apnea session:

  • Our instructor will teach you advanced breathing and relaxation techniques so you

will be able to extend your breath-hold times easily and safely

- During the dynamic apnea session:

  • You will learn what is the correct weighting to use

  •  You will receive precious advices on your finning technique and body position

- During the open water sessions:

  • You will practice Frenzel equalization

  • Our instructor will help you to improve your technique in Free Immersion and Constant Weight: Duck Dive - Body and head position - Streamline

position during the descent - Finning technique

  • You will practice Safety and Rescue procedures from the depth and at the surface

  • You will learn how to use the safety lanyard

  • How to freedive close to the reef

  • Progressive adaptation to the depth.

To successfully complete the AIDA 2 freediver course you will have to perform a 2 minutes breath-hold, swim 40m in Dynamic Apnea with fins and freedive to 16m in open water. At the end of the course you will be able to freedive comfortably to depths of 15/20 meters.

The Prerequisites for this course are:
- Be 18 years of age or older (17 or 16 years with parent or guardian consent)
- Be able to swim atleast 300m non-stop with mask fins & snorkel
- Have completed AIDA medical form
This course includes freediving equipment, insurance, boat fees, pool fees, digital copy of AIDA 2 manual and certificate.

ADVANCED AIDA 3 - The advanced AIDA 3 course is taught over three days, and goes into the theory of Freediving in more depth which will allow you to understand the physiology and techniques behind diving deeper. The course will help you improve your Freediving performance whilst advancing your safety and rescue skills. Candidates are guided through a 26-30m CWT, 2 minute and 45 seconds’ static and 55m DYN with appropriate techniques to achieve these performances. Students are introduced to freediving with a lanyard, CO2 v O2 based training and ways of incorporating these into a dive fitness regime. This course challenges aspects of your mental strength as we push boundaries to prepare you for deeper diving.

Candidates for the 3* course must have completed an AIDA 2* course or recognised equivalent and have maintained freediving fitness allowing for the progression to the 3* level.

AIDA 3 course consists of:

  • three theory sessions

  • breathing and relaxation sessions

  • two confined water sessions

  • four open water sessions

  • one exam to pass at the end

   - What you will learn:

  • You will learn what happens to the body (and lungs) when

the surrounding pressure becomes greater and how the

body adapts to this (mammalian dive reflex).

  • You will learn more about equalization techniques and how

to perform or master the Frenzel technique.

  • The confined water sessions will allow you to practice O2

and CO2 tables, learn training concepts for static and how

       to prepare a maximum attempt.

  • We will refine your swimming and diving technics, improve

your streamlining position, and perform Frenzel equalisation efficiently while freediving. You will learn and practice the free falling and how

to be very relax when performing a freedive at depth.

  • More rescue scenarios at depth and on the surface will be practiced.

To successfully complete the AIDA 3 freediver course you will have to perform a 2 minutes 45 seconds breath-hold, swim 55m in Dynamic with fins and freedive to 24 meters in the Constant Weight discipline. At the end of the course you will be able to freedive comfortably with an experienced buddy to depths of 25/30 meters.

The Prerequisites for this course are:

- Be 18 years of age or older (17 or 16 years with parent or guardian consent)
- Have an AIDA 2 freediver of successful Crossover Evaluation AIDA2.
- Have completed AIDA medical form
*This course Includes freediving equipment, insurance, boat fees, pool fees, digital copy of AIDA 3 manual and certificate

The Freediver & Advanced Freediver Course Combo combines the first two freediving courses, with a total length of 6 - 7 days, providing the perfect opportunity for students who want to start and immediately get into deeper freediving. The integration of these two courses provides solid progression and assimilation of concepts.

If you are a certified freediver (at least level 1) wishing to advance your current skills, brush up on safety, improve your technique, we can create personalised training sessions that will be tailored to your current skill level and what you want to achieve.

Dolphin Divers aims to give children the ability to build water confidence and expand freediving skills and techniques. Our goal is to help children discover their inner dolphin and learn valuable water skills, in a safe and fun way.

Teaching children the importance of a healthy ocean for the planet and ourselves, to consume its products in a responsible way and work towards solutions for the actual problems, like plastic pollution and over fishing is the right and sensible thing to educate our children with. Dolphin Divers provides a variety of fun engaging sessions and courses, to ensure that children grow in mind, body and heart!
